Ellie Navarro, an oil painter from the Carolinas, creates paintings with bold, expressive brushstrokes and harmonious colors. Her work reflects a quiet love for nature’s ever-changing beauty, capturing its gentle moods across all seasons. Often found painting ankle-deep in a local creek, standing in a pasture, or on a neighborhood sidewalk, Ellie finds deep joy in plein air painting.

Before turning to painting, Ellie spent 15 years as a professional photographer, honing a keen sensitivity to light and color that continues to shape her creative process, whether outdoors or in her studio. After years of painting exclusively en plein air, she now weaves fieldwork with studio practice.

Raised in a family of artists, Ellie studied with contemporary painters Anne Blair Brown, Sarah Sedwick, David Shevlino, and Ukrainian artist Natalia Nosykartis. Since 2020, her artistic journey has flourished under the mentorship of Jim Carson, OPA, AIS.
